Ben’s Ranch Foundation (BRF) is a not-for-profit, charitable foundation based in Indianapolis. The Foundation operates and supports programs designed to give teens with mental health challenges new ways to improve their lives by connecting them to the healing powers of the farm, ranch life and equine assisted therapies.
We are funded through donations by individuals, corporations and foundations, as well as fees paid by participants based on a financial needs formula.
The Foundation is named in honor of a young man whose life was greatly enriched and prolonged by his 18-month stay on a remote Wyoming ranch during what would have been his senior year of high school. The quiet place and people, remote outdoor setting and interaction with horses worked a miracle in his troubled life.
"The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings."
