Multiple Foundations Have Shown Support Recently, Enabled Program Fee Elimination
Carmel-based nonprofit Ben’s Ranch Foundation is eliminating all program fees for participants in the organization’s internship program thanks to the support of generous donors and grants.
Ben’s Ranch Foundation creates new options and hope for young people struggling with mental health challenges by arranging paid, part-time employment opportunities known as “internships” with partner farms, ranches, stables, and therapeutic riding facilities. The combination of animals, nature and hard work has been shown to help give the teens purpose and relief. The program serves those between the ages of 16-19 with anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.
Families no longer need to pay ongoing fees in order for their children to participate in the organization’s internship program, as it is now solely funded by individual donations, grants, and corporate donations. Last year, the organization was also able to eliminate application fees.
“We are eliminating any barriers to participation so that struggling teens can access the help they need,” said Ben’s Ranch Foundation Founder Brose McVey. “We are excited for Ben’s Ranch Foundation’s future, and the potential opportunities we can provide for teens as they overcome their mental health challenges.”
